Football in the News!

I know, it’s always in the news.  So what.

Apparently the powers are trying to pretend they care about player safety, but are doing it in their traditionally ham-handed and single-focus manner.

The league is all about scoring anyway.  They don’t actually want any defense.  It spoils the game.  Makes it boring and slow.  They’ve been legislating defense out of the game for years.  Why stop now when the elimination of all defensive contact is what we are going for in the end?

Ah, you think I’m being dramatic and not seeing the dire safety concerns.  Perhaps.  But perhaps I wish for wings that work.

Anywho…in other news Michael Vick is a tool.   He is the center of non-controversy because he was late or something and people covered it up badly.  Is this experiment coming to a boil yet?  I don’t know, but I do know that Vick is no savior at QB.  You know this, Philly fans.  Stop fawning.  It’s disgusting.  Especially after how you treated an actual QB.

The real bizarre news item we get out of this article is that Mike Kafka has a job in football.  Is there a place in the NFL for a QB that can throw 65 seven yard passes in a game?  Well, I’m sure he’s good with a clipboard.
