Mel Gibson's mugshot from his 28 July 2006 arr...

On the heels of news that Mel Gibson was going to cameo in the The Hangover 2 comes news that he will not be seen in the film after all.

Seems like some cast complaints (at least from Galifianakis, it seems) coupled with the media hubbub surrounding the news has led some folks to do an about-face.

Personally, I don’t find Gibson very amusing.  The days of Mad Max are long gone.  The guy’s last decent film was in 1985.  I don’t give him credit for Signs because it had weird aliens and Joaquin Phoenix, which made up for his dull acting.  I’ll also not give him credit for Chicken Run because we were spared having to see his damn face.  Mostly, he graces us with such joys as What Women Want, The Patriot, Lethal Weapon 4 and Tim.

Why anyone would think adding this arsehole and his parade of douche-tastic antics is beyond me.  Sure, if he’s going to feature in the film, help fund it, or the target market is Drunk Thug-Christian Misogynassholes then it makes a bit of sense.  Otherwise, what you thinkin’ Warner Bros?

We know, we know.  Mike Tyson worked.  Well, let me be the first to say I can’t stand that lump of crap either.  However, we are making fun OF HIM.  I highly doubt Mel was looking to make fun of his messed up world-view or any of his current legal problems (best headline?  The Toronto Sun gives us Gibson’s ex fails to limit probe).

Besides, the replacement is supposedly Liam Neeson.   The big whigs probably just dumped Mel when they realized they could get Neeson.  Can’t really blame them.

Seems like Mel has been taking acting lessons from Chopper (that’s pronounced “choppa,” fuckweed).
